1. Who is the source of the information?
The website doesn't say. It tells the people who "work" at the island but doesn't say who is the source of the information.
2. What are you getting?
I think that this island is a scam. It tries to make you seem like they are all for the happiness of your dog. But if you look at the pictures one is a dog being shipped to the island; they are put in a closed wooden box! Thrown to survive by themselves on an island?..and another picture where dogs are "greeting" each other I'm pretty sure when dogs greet one another and are happy to see another dog they don't show their teeth.
3. When was the site created?
The website never said when it was published, but I'm guessing it was in 2003, because that is when the copyright was.
4. Where?
The only address is .com anyone could have created the site from anywhere, they never tell you where they are from or where the island is located.
5. Why are you here?
To give my evaluation on this website.
6. How can you tell what's what?
It shows labels and links but I think very poor information.
I don't think that is a very valid website. There is so much information not given, it seems a little fishy to me. From what I saw/read I wouldn't want to send my dog to this island. If they had more information given and who created and where it might pass for a valid website.
You posted some very insightful observations. I find it so interesting that when you take the time to really examine a website an individual is able to discover that it may not really be as credible as it was originally perceived. Individuals need to carefully examine and critique the websites that they choose to use when they are seeking information on a particular topic. I also think that your observations about the “wooden crate” and the “greetings” for the dogs do not lend credibility to this website. Since this website is a .com, individuals need to realize that this is a commercial organization. If an individual is considering using the services offered in a .com website, they should carefully research the credibility of the organization, particularly if they are considering using the services offered on the website.
